Statement of our Values
We at The Ever Green Hearth would like to take this time to publicly affirm our beliefs. “An it harm none, do what thou will” is an expression that we abide by, and we interpret this to mean that we all should have the freedom to do what we choose, as long as it does not bring harm to others. This phrase relates not only to religious freedom, but to sexual freedom, health choices, and all other aspects of life as well. “An it Harm None” means that we believe in taking personal responsibility for our own actions, and also acknowledging how our individual actions will have consequences for other people in our community and the world.
As such:
We believe in freedom of religion and that all people should have the freedom to publicly believe and worship as they see fit, as long as their beliefs and worship do not harm others or hinder the freedom and safety of others.
We believe in the value of nature, and that we should do all we can to protect and preserve the wild spaces of nature, and avoid the destruction of nature or the over-use of natural resources.
We believe in sexual freedom and sacred sexuality - that all consenting adults should be free to choose their own style of sexual experiences with other consenting adults.
We believe that individuals know their own gender identity, and we respect the gender identity of all people as sacred. We believe the right to gender affirming care is a human right. Trans lives are sacred and are currently in need of our protection and support. [here is a Link to our full LGBTQ+ Inclusivity Statement ]
We believe in reproductive freedom and that all people should have a choice in their reproductive choices and access to the reproductive healthcare they need. Abortion is healthcare and it is a personal choice that all should have the freedom to make with their healthcare professionals.
We believe that it is socially responsible and an act of community care to receive vaccinations and take public health measures to avoid spreading illness within our community.
We believe that immigrants deserve respect and compassion, and we condemn the hateful rhetoric and harmful rumors about immigrants. We strive to embrace a lifestyle of hospitality and respect for all people.
We proudly proclaim, “Black Lives Matter” and encourage our community to learn how to be anti-racist.
We acknowledge that colonization has done a great deal of harm to the land we live on and the lives of indigenous people, and we strive to learn how to decolonize our own practices and teach our future generations to do better.
We are a collective of Wiccans, Pagans, Witches and Shamans who are Neurodiverse, Queer, children of immigrants and indigenous people; and we gather in peace to worship the Gods and live in harmony with the cycles of nature.
We are a 501-c3 Non Profit Religious Organization with Ordained Clergy, and it is our hope to continue to provide Pagan Religious services and ministry for our community. We are an affiliate church of The Aquarian Tabernacle Church of Wicca. You do not have to be Wiccan to join us in circle at our public events or to be a part of our community. At this time, we believe that having a strong connected community and systems of mutual aid will be necessary as we move forward into uncertain times. Please reach out if you share our values and would like to connect with our community.
